Fibre

Fibre was once considered a ballast substance, as it was sparsely used by the organism. This changed after the discovery of its previously unknown properties – reducing cholesterol and triglycerides absorption, lowering blood pressure, slowing down carbohydrate breakdown, lowering the glucose level and insulin demand. It also helps accelerate intestinal peristalsis and metabolism, prevents constipation, balances the intestinal flora, reduces hunger (thanks to pectin and cellulose expanding in the stomach), removes harmful substances (toxins and heavy metals), prevents digestive tract tumours. It has been proved that increasing fibre intake by 10g in three meals every day lowers the risk of colon cancer.
