Bodybuilding

This discipline is focused on building muscle mass while keeping appropriate body proportions, as well as general body shape improvement. It consists of two parts: building muscle mass and burning the fat tissue. Bodybuilding supplementation is an extensive topic, but the substances can be generally categorized as follows:

Building mass and strength:

  • Creatin – an important part of muscle cells, increasing ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production; responsible for energy-related processes in muscles. When synthesized properly, it increases strength, increases endurance, and improves regeneration rate.
  • Creatine stacks / Pre-training boosters – a combination of various active ingredients, improving the so-called „muscle pump”, i.e. muscle blood flow, along with strength and endurance. They also affect the central nervous system, improving concentration.
  • Beta-alanine – lowers the lactic acid level, allowing for longer, more efficient training sessions.
  • Carbohydrates – recover lost muscle glycogen, influencing the anabolism and the regeneration process.
  • Arginine, citrulline, agmatine – expand blood vessels, increasing the nitrogen oxide level, boosting endurance and efficiency.
  • Testosterone booster – raises testosterone levels significantly, resulting in increased anabolism, improved regeneration rate, vitality, and additional energy.

Regeneration:

  • BCAA (exogenic aminoacids) – not produced by the human body, meaning they have to come from food or supplements. Their presence allows for a quick regeneration of damaged muscle fibres.
  • L-glutamine (endogenic aminoacid) – a basic aminoacid. The human body does produce it, but it is rapidly used up during physical activity. Supplementing the deficit is recommended, as the substance has an anti-catabolic effect (protecting the muscles), staves off tiredness, and improves the immune system.
  • Vitamins and minerals – they ensure that all important internal processes are handled correctly.
